EBPP RESOURCES LISTING

One of the defining features of the EBPP movement is its emphasis on the effective use of information resources. Those producing narrative or systematic reviews of evidence in social policy fields need to access a wide range of bibliographic databases and other sources of information if they are to capture as much relevant evidence as possible. Similarly, evidence-aware decision makers and practitioners need to know where to look for useful information on their particular areas of interest.

One of the services provided by the ESRC UK Centre for Evidence Based Policy and Practice to the EBPP community is to provide access to as many useful sources of information as possible. This section of the website covers six major types of EBPP Resource: bibliographic and research databases (click here for advice on searching); internet gateways; systematic review centres; EBPP centres; research centres; and library services. The Centre's Nodes (button at the top of this page) are also valuable sources of information for EBPP activities and resources.

The EBPP Resources can be accessed either as a searchable alphabetical list of all the categories by clicking the link at the top of the page, or as six separate lists classified by type of resource.

  • Bibliographic and Research Databases (Resources providing details of published information and research in progress)
  • Gateways (Resources giving web-based access to a wide range of different information sources in the social sciences)
  • Systematic Review Centres (Resources specialising in research synthesis to produce systematic and other kinds of review)
  • EBPP Centres (Resources that focus on the use of evidence in policy and practice)
  • Research Centres (Resources engaged in research relevant to EBPP)
  • Library Services (Resources providing documents and/or information support)

The EBPP Resources listed here are a start. We add to them on a regular basis, and welcome suggestions for others that you have found useful in your work. The information provided is regularly reviewed for accuracy but may change from time to time. Contact alan.gomersall@kcl.ac.uk with any comments, or information on new Resources. If you are an Associate of the Centre, you can send a message direct from your section of the website (click here).
